I went out to the Station, a pub
just down the lane
Me an an Mick fancied a pint and ter get out of
the rain
as we pushed the swingdoors open , the music filled
our ears
it was Simon And Garfunkel! it nearly brought
on tears
There besides the jukebox was this loverly lookin
lass
I said Mick me darlin boy! i'm gonna make a pass!
her eyes sparkled like diamonds an such a loverly
nose
that was the first time , i saw my English rose
Mick went home alone that night, my mind was far
away
I took her home and kissed her, and then went
on my way
we met again the next night, and love was in the
air
each wakeing moment i had ,i wanted her to share
whenever i think of roses, i think of that loverly
lass
when we went out dancing, and the things that
came to pass!
